Campus Minister

My name is Austin Reaves, and I have the honor and the privilege of serving as the Campus Minister at Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Georgia State. I am originally from Newnan, GA. I went to the University of North Georgia where I majored in Marketing. It was there that I met my wonderful wife Savannah (at the BCM.) After graduating from college, I served for two years as an Intern at the Georgia Southern BCM. After interning, Savannah and I moved to Wake Forest, NC in order for me to pursue my MDiv at Southeastern Seminary. While at Southeastern, we had our first child Emerson Olivia Reaves. I love working with college students and helping them grow in their walk with Christ! I am passionate about coffee, Atlanta sports, board games, movies and anything outdoors. I look forward to getting to know you!

Hello! My name is Sophie and I have the honor of being president of the BCM this year. I am a third year studying psychology and I have special interests in coffee, music, and cats. When I first came to the BCM, I was shocked by how close and welcoming everyone was. The BCM is a place where community and connection is built so we can all grow closer in our relationship with God. As president, my goal is to encourage and uplift my fellow brothers and sisters so we can make Christ known at GSU. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11

Hi my name is Carson Doane and I am the VP of Discipleship this year. I am an actuarial science major going into my junior year. Man I am so pumped to be apart of this year and see where the Lord leads not only through me, and this team, but also the people of the BCM and the organization as a whole.

Howdy! My name is Sanai Atherton, and I am an upcoming junior here at GSU, pursuing my bachelors degree in Psychology! i’m honored to lead as your vice president of missions! I am beyond excited to reach the campus and beyond in spreading the Good news of Christ! I strive for Jesus to be known and to help our campus feel a little more like home by genuinely knowing and pouring into the lives of our students. Can’t wait to meet you all!

Hey everyone, I’m returning to GSU as a junior in Elementary Education and as this year’s VP of fellowship! My goal this year is to help foster a community that puts Jesus first and empowers us to shares His love with all of campus. The BCM is a special place for community as we put Christ at the center of our events, creating relationships that help build you up in your faith.

Hello everyone! My name is Johnna and I’m the Social Media Director here at Georgia State’s BCM. I enjoy things like playing music, singing, anything art-related, the ocean, and Nintendo. I am going into my junior year and I’m a current marketing major with a concentration in Graphic Design. Although I was raised in a Christian based household, I started my personal walk with Christ my senior year of high school and am currently still on that journey. I hope through the language of art and media, that I can help you with your journey as well!

Worship Leader

Hey everyone! My name is Noah; I’m currently the worship leader at the Georgia State BCM. Music is a prominent part of my life, and I’m excited for this opportunity to serve God and minister to others in the BCM with it! I serve regularly on the worship team at a church called Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA. Right now, I’m a sophomore at GSU studying Music Production, and I commute from Peachtree City, GA every day. I’m mainly a drummer, but I also know how to play some guitar, bass and bit of piano as well. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for this semester!

International Student Minister

I'm Simon David, the International Student Leader at Georgia State's BCM! I've been following Christ since Summer 2021 and if I had to sum up the Christian walk in one phrase, it would be "Love God, love people." I've seen many in the BCM faithfully live up to this purpose and I hope I can do the same as I serve this year! I'm a freshman majoring in Film/Media since I believe a good story is one of the most powerful ways to communicate with others (and I think God would agree since He spoke to us through the Bible!) I'm looking forward to hearing your story as we grow closer to our Lord!

Men’s Minister

Hey! My name is Benjamin Vilmar. I am entering into my fourth year of college and going to the Georgia State BCM. I am passionate about art, basketball, and learning the bass guitar. I’ve been going to the GSU BCM since my first week of college and it has not only been a big part of my college experience, but my faith also. This community has given me a lot of great laughs, as well as a lot of great lessons learned and strong friendships formed. I am honored to serve this year as men’s ministry leader and I am excited to see what God is going to do.

Women’s Minister

Hey there! I’m Juliana, the women’s leader for this upcoming year at BCM! I love music, reading, being outside and hot cups of tea. Last year as a freshman, being new to GSU and the big city, the BCM became a beacon of hope, encouragement and belonging. I hope to welcome you as well, and gaze upon the beauty of the Lord together, as we live every day to the fullest, for his glory and our good. :)
